The traveler show 11 comprisesa circular piece of metal 30 very thin and of lightweight and having a small top and bottom face, and also having integral therewith an arm or leg which carries at its upper end a thread eye. This arm or leg extends inwardly for a short distance from the annulus 30, as at 41, see
Figs. 5 and 6, and then upwardly above the spinning ring, the inwardly extending portion 41 being in the same plane as the annulus and v preferably being broader than, the upturned portion, as shown in Fig. 6. The

downwardly and outwardly, as represented in Fig. 3 to form an eye or thread receiving portion 32, the extremity of the upturned portion standing outwardly as at 33.
In the application referred to, the eye was formed by bending the extremity of the upturned arm outwardly and downwardly against the upright part of the arm, and in practice it is found that sometimes the thread escapes, but by making the eye, represented in Fig. 3herein, it is impossible'for the thread to escape. Further in the applicationv referred towhere the under side of the circular part 30 of the traveler was sustained at butv four points, each separated at a considerable distance from the other,it was found that in some instances the traveler became dislodged from its rests', consequently, I have made the upper end of the flange 12 of such shape as to substantially support all parts of the under side of the circular portion 30 of the traveler, as the latter is rotated due to the drag of the thread in the eye32. Theprevention of all possibility ofthe traveler becoming detached is a matter of very considerable importance,
and adds greatly to the desirability of a ringof-the class described.
-. The walls of the shell 22 are imperforate and preferably the vertical wall of the lining m'ember21 is also imperforate.. I find from practice that there is sufficient suction provided by the rapid rotation of the bobbin to suck out from the apertures 13 any lint which may accumulate therein even though the vertical wall of the shell is made imperforate.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is t p 1, A spinning ring comprising a shell having imperforate side walls and an inturned flange at its upper end and an anti-friction member lining the shell and flange, combined with a traveler made as aring having flat-top and bottom faces and havin an up wardly extended thread guide provi ed with an eye and a plate having a flange upturned within said anti-friction member and sustaining the circular part of said traveler substantially throughout its lengthto thereby prevent the displacement of the traveler in the ring.
2. A spinning; ring comprising a shell havmg imperforate side walls and an mturned flange at its upper end, and an anti-friction j member within said shell, combined with a traveler sustainer comprising a plate having an upturned flange provided with openings situated entirely below its upper edge on which the circular art of the traveler moves, said openings ena ling any lint within the ring tobe discharged therefrom toward the yarn load from which it is later thrown by centrifugal action.
3. The combination with a spinning ring comprising a shell having imperl'orate side walls and an inturned flange at its upper end, an anti-friction member lining the shell and flange, and an inner member having an upturned flange within the anti-friction member, of a'traveler received between said upturned flange and the anti-friction means, said traveler comprising a circular base hav ing smooth top and bottonrfacesand having integral therewith an upturned arm provided With an eye formed by-bending the end.
