IMPROVEMENT IN JPLOVU'-TRUCK.
To all whom 'it ma/y concern Be it `known that I, JOSEPH Grises, of Darbyville, in the county of Pickaway, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvemeritin PlowTrucks and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the ait to make and use the same, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in plowtrucks, the object of which is to provide a simple and convenient arrangement for adjusting the same, to vary the depth and width of the furrows, as may be required. A
Figure 1v represents a side elevation of my improved truck, partly broken away, and Figure 2A represents a front elevation of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts. v
The plow-beam is provided with plates A, on each side,'havingjsquare vertical holes through them, and set-screws B, communicating with them,
The axle is made in two parts, 'O and D.
The part 0,"whieb supports the small wheel for running on the unplowed ground, is turned up at right t angles, and'itted to slide, in one of the plates A, and
to be secured therein at any desired point by the setscrew. y
'-.The part D is provided witha vertical arm, E, also htted to slide in and be secured to one of the plates A. It is also capable of sliding to and fro on the said part D of Fthe axle, and carries a set-screw for secu'r' ing it theron. l The inner end of the. part D has a vertical groove in one side, and an adjustable arm, F, is secured theremay be applied to either side of the beam, and are adapted to a right or left-hand plow. p
The part D andthe vertical part of the part C are provided with scales, for measuring the respective adjustments. e
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters lE'atent 1. A plow-truck, having the axle constructed in two parts, and arranged to adj ust either part vertically, without changing the other, substantially as speciiied.
2. The part Dof the axle, carrying the guiding- Wheel, arranged to be adjusted horizontally and vertically, independently of the other part of the said axle, substantially as specied.
3. The part G of the axle, carrying the small wheel, bent at right angles, and arranged for adjustment in thev plate A, substantially as specilied.
4. VThe combination, with the parts G and D ofthe axle, of the arm E, substantially as specified.
5. The combination, with the parts D and C, of the arms E and F, substantially as specied.
