CHARLES G. BACON, OF ANTIGO,
WISCONSIN, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO EDWARD HADLERl OF ANTIGO, WISCONSIN.
COMBINED SHADE AND CURTAIN-POLE SPPORT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 3, 1907.
Application filed .Tune 24:. 1907. Serial No. 380.506.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES G. BACON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Antigo, in the county of Langlade and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Combined Shade applied to a window frame without the useof separate fastening devices, and by means of which a curtain ole and shade roller may be supported and rmly held in proper position.
With this object in view, the' invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more fully described 'and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a plan view of my improved support applied to a window frame, showing the shade -roller and curtain pole engaged therewith;
Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same; and Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view of one of vthe supports.
Referring more particularly to the drawing, 1 denotes my improved shade roller and curtain pole brackets or supports, each of which is formedv from a single wire rod,
which is bent substantially midway between,
posed holes, 5, formed in the curtain poles adjacent to their op osite ends, `or may serve as stops to hold t e curtain pole on the rods l when said poles are not provided with holes to receive the supports 4.
The rods 1v are provided on their inner ends with screw-threads, 6 by means of which the v same may be conveniently screwed into window frame, thus providing for the attachment of the same without the use of separate fastening devices. This arrangement also dispenses with thenecessity of any form of tool for applying the supports to the window frame.
Having thus fully described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, is:
1. A combined curtain pole and shade support, comprising a continuous rod member having intermediate of its inner. and outer ends a substantially U-shaped bent portion adapted to form a 'socket for the reception of one of the trunnions of the shade roll,.the said rod having its outer end adapted to be passed through an opening in a curtain pole and provided beyond said point with means for the effective retention of said rod in said opening.l
2. A continuous rod having intermediate of its end portions a substantially downwardly bent U-shaped portion, forming a socket for the reception of the trunnion upon one end of the shade roll, said rod having its outer end bent upwardly to form a stop at nesses.
