MROVEIEENT IN COMBINED BLADE-CASE AND ATTACEINGPIN.

l'hvschadule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same. #Job- To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, L. BOWSER, of Moncton, New Brunswick, have invented a Combined Pin and Blade- Oase; and l'. do hereby declare that the following, taken in connection withfthe drawings which accompany and form part of this specification, is a description of my invention suiicient to enable those skilled in' the art to practise it.

`The invention has refcrenceto the construction of or pocket, for containing a car-ticket holderand' tooth-- pick, or similar devices, whichelose within or open from the pocket, not unlike the blales of a knife.

` a denotes a spring-pin, fixed at one end tovone endr of 'a plate, l), the point c, of the pin, being held in position and covered bya shield, d, when the pin is in use as a means of attachment.

To the plate b is fastened another and parallel plate, e, one or both plates being shouldered at the opposite ends, so as to' leave a pocket-space, f, between, as seen at D.

' The two plates b e are riveted or fastened together,

at one end, by the shank g of the pin a, which passes through both plates, and at the other end by a rivet,

W'ithin this pocket -lie two blades, i k, pivoted, respectively, at theopposite ends of the plates b e, and between said plates, on the' pins g h, the end of each blade projecting beyond the plates, to form a handle, l,by which to turn the blades in and out from the pocket.

One of these blades is preferably formed as a ticketholder, by stamping ont a tongue m, under and by which a ticket or .other card may be clamped, when the plateiis pinned upon the breast of a coat, or other part of thew clothing, to hold the ticket in exposed position.

The other blade may be a tooth-pick, knife-blade, or other. device.

The shoulder or shoulders may beformed upon each plate, by using a plate of the requisite thickness, and striking down the thin part.

I claim, as a. new article 'of manufacture, a shawl or similar pin, having combined with it plates, with a space between them, which space forms a pocket for receiving blades, (one of which may be a ticket-holder, and another a toothpick,) substantially as described.
