IMPRDVEMENT IN PUMPING-APPARATUS FOR SU'PPLYIN'G- AND i LIQUIDS T0 CASES.

Be it known that I, ALEXANDER MILLS DIX, of Shelton, England, brewer, have invented an Improved Mode oiand Apparatus for Supplying Finings or other Liquids to Caslis or other Vessels and I do hereby declare that the oliowing is n. full, clear, and exact descriptiou thereof, reference being had to the acc-onipauying drawings, and to the letters and figures marked thereon; that is to soy- The chief object of my invention is a better inode oi' supplyint isinglass, or other timings, to easks, but

vthe invention also applies to supplying or tilling up csks, er other vessels, with other liquids.

The ordinary niodeof supplying finingsto easlis is to' take out the shive, or bung, and pour the linings through the bunghole or to pour in the I'inings before the shiveis inserted; butv this inode is inconvenient, seine ol" the contents of the exi-si; being often lost, they best time for inserting the linings being just prior to delivery and stillagiug. My invention consists iu forcing in the linings through screwed, or inserted, through the hole bollire inentioued, while thc second nozzle, or outlet, remains outside the cash.

The invention will he fully understood on reference to the accompanying druwiugs, of 'which- Y Figure 1 is a sectional view of the a'ilpuratuscouiplete, with the three-way tap A inserted into ther shive, or bung, of ea 2, B, the hule into which it is screwed having been previously made with a ginilet.

The tap has two nozzles, e b, seen in the detached sectional view, Figure '2, the nozzle (L beiin,r serewthreaded, for the purpose ci'. screwing into the shire, or'bung, as shown in iig. 1.

This pump is litted in a tub, E, in which the finings A are placed, and is held rinly therein by two cross-bars,

or rails, u il, which also serve as handles, for lifting or moving the tub, or vessel, from place to place.
