The improved door or shutter of my invention com rises three layers of corrugated metal, name y, two outside layers designated a between the other two layers, the corruga tions of the intermediate la er extending obliquely preferably at an ang e of forty-five layers.

Hereinafter therefore, todistinguish the layer 1 from the layer 2 whileboth-are ex-1 teriorfcr outside layers with respect to the layer,3,I shall refer to'the layer 1 asfthe'inner layer, the layer 2 as the outer layer, and the inside layer 3 as the intermediate layer.

As'shown particularl in Fig. 3, the inner layer 1 is provided wit a flat marginal'ex-7o tension 1, projecting beyond the other layers above mentioned, and to the outer edge "of this marginal extension 1, an-angle iron binding-strip 5 is secured, The outstanding member 5 of the angle iron binding strip'5 7 5 is 'spaced'from the corrugated layers 1, 2 and I 3, and in this space is secured a corrugated strip 6wvith its corrugations extending longitudinally. The strip 6 isalso providedwith a fiat marginal extension, designated 6 said extension being interposed between the main portion of the angle iron binding strip 5 and the extension 1 of theinner layer. 1. While the accompanying drawings illustrate my invention as embodied in a pair of hinged shutters, itis obvious that it is not limited thereto, as it is equally applicable to sliding. shutters and doors.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
1. The herein described fire proof closure, consisting of an inner layer and an outer layer both of which are corrugated and have their corrugations extending longitudinally, an intermediate corrugated layer, the corrugations of which extend obliquely to the corrugations of the other two layers, and an asbes- 'tossheet interposed between the inner layer and the intermediate layer, whreby there are produced three intermediate series of air channels namely, the longitudinally extendlng series between the outer layer and the in termediate layer, the longitudinally extendmg series between the asbestos sheet and the inner layer,and the obliquely extending se ries between the asbestos sheet and the intermediate layer.
12. The herein described fire proof closure, comprising corrugated layers, one of which is 'rovided with marginal extensions, angle ars secured. to said extensions, and corrugated strips secured to said angle bar and marginal extensions and lying between the angle bar and the corrugated layers.

The herein described improved fireproof closure, comprising corrugated layers, one of which is provided with flat longitudinal extensions, angle bars secured to said extensions with one member outstandiiv therefrom, and corrugated strips located in the space between. said outstanding members of the angles and the said corrugated. layers, said corrugated strips being also provided with flat marginal extensions interposed between the angle bars and thefirst named marginal extensions.
4. The herein described improved fire proof closure, comprising corrugated layers, one of which is provided with fiat longitudinal extensions, binding strips secured to said extensions, and corrugated strips located between said binding strips and the said corrugated layers and secured to the latter and to the said fiat extension of one of said layers.
5. The herein described fire proof closure, comprising corrugated layers, one of which is rovidedwith marginal extensions and spaced From the main portion of the corrugated layers, and corrugated strips provided with side edge extensions, one of which is interposed between the adjacent binding strip and the marginal extension of one of the corrugated layers, and the other of which is interposed between the marginal extension of one of the layers and the edges of the other layers.
