5 gheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Attachments for Telephones, of which the following=is a specification, reference Lbeing had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to an attachment for telephones .and the invention has for its object to provide a novel attachment for supporting a receiver in a convenient position while a message is being received'and transmitted over a telephone. 1

, AIlOlZ-LLBI object of this invention is to provide a simple attachment which can be easily and quick y adjusted to position the receiver in auseful and convenient position with rela tion to the transmitter of a telephone.

A further object of this invention is to provide a durable attachment-that can be readily fastened to the transmitter of an ordinary telephone, the attachment being provided receiver whileithe same is bein used.

With the above and other 0 jects in view, which will more readily appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts to'be hereinafter more fully described and then specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

Upon the end of the rod 8 is mounted ahead which is a justably held within the head 10 by a set-screw 12; The upper end ofthe support 11 is provided with a clasp 14, comprismg two spring arms of clips 15, adapted to embrace the receiver 16 of the telephone 3.

Assuming that a person desires toireceive or transmit a message over the telephone 3, the receiver 16 is placed in the clip 14 and the yoke 6 and the arm 7 swung to sucha' position as to hold the receiver- 16 in close proximity to a persons ear, whereby the message being received can be distinctly understood through the receiver. In providing the adjustable rod 8 and the adjustable support 11 the attachment of the telephone can easily be adjusted to hold a receiver at a desired elevation and distance from the transmitter, and it will be observed from the illustration of my invention that the! adjusted position of' the receiver'permits of'a person standing close to the telephone without moving the attach-- ment while a message is being received or transmitted.

A feature of my invention resides in the fact that the attachment or receiver-holder eliminates the necessity of a person using one hand to support the receiver, thereby permitting of a person writing the message being received or performing some other duties Withrelieve persons of uncomfortable positions Whllfl recelvmg or transmitting messages.
