Referring to tliedrawings (I, is an ordinary well known type of telephone instrument, as shown of the Bell type, provided with a receiver (1., receiver-hook a, and a transmitter c2 1 The attachment of our invention, consisting of a right-angular standard b, the terminal portion of which, as
shown, is provided with two pivoted parts.
7), to embrace the upri ht a, ofithetelephone instrument as s own, and with a tightening bolt and nut b, to hold the'same in required position 'in connection with the said upright a. To the standard b,'1sat-- tachcd a slotted curved barb by'means ofa jam-nut b", the upper end of the curved portion of the bar b, is provided witha swiveling snap-hook b, to admit therelnto the receiver a. The slotted portion b", of the curved bar 6 with which the jam-nut b, engages, permits desiredan :la'rityor' curvature to be quickly derive 1:11 operaetive position of the receiver held in snaphook I), to register with an ear of the person while the mouth is registered with the transmitter as will be readily understood from the drawing to thereby enable transmitting and receiving to be carried on without hav-' tachment performs the double function of supporting the telephone receiver anc'v cutting on orbit the electric connection with an exchange to and from a subscriber station, according as the foot 7), is in or out of engagement with the receiver supporting hook (1 either the transmitter or the receiver of the telephone instrument.
Havingtlulsdescribcd our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Let-- tel-s latcnt is The combination with a telephone instrument, of an attachment, consisting of a detachable standard in connection with the telephone instrument and extending within and in proximity to the base of the receiver supporting hook thereof, a curved bar pivand without having to handlc oted to said standard and having a foot to our signatnres inthe presence of two subdirectly engage the receiver hook, so asto scribing Witnesses. depress the san'1e,'.a snap-hook to detachably ANDREW C HEVITT en age the receiver therewith, said hook I 5 hazing an adjustment with said bar and VILLIAM THOMAS- means to clamp the parts of said attachment Witnesses: inoperatlve relation with each other.
