IMPROVEMENT IN UTERINE SUPPORTERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all Ywlwm 1; may concern:
Be it known that 1, JAMES T. BOYD, M. D., of Indianapolis, in the countT of Marion, in the State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Uterine Supporters; and I do hereby declare that the. following is a full and exact description ofthe saine, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specication, in which-s Figure l represents a front View.
M M represent wires in the "front pad, which wires bent or curved in regular bends or curves, or otherwise of exact size, fitting into grooves or openings at A A, which grooves or recesses correspond in shape and size with the ends of the Wires M-M, so that the pad can he raised or lowered to adjust it to the sizeV of the patient, and iastened by a button or otherwise.
B, fig. l, represents the sarne arrangement of bends or curves in the end of the wire supporting the cup' y D, in which the neel; of the uterus sits, fitting into eoiresponding g 1ooves or recesses, and fastened as before, by which the stern B, with the cup D, can be raised or lowered to suit the patient.
Figure 2 represents a back view, and G C, pads, upon the back of which are coiled springs or wires, by which tire instrument can be enlarged by uncoiling, and oontraeted by eoling up7 so as to suit the size of the person.
XVha-t I claim as new in my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
rI he curved wires M M and B, and their corresponding,- grooves in the pad A A, with their fastenings and attachments, in the manner and for the purpose suhstantialhvvv as set'forth.
Also, the coiled springs or wires on the back of the pals C', arranged and attached in the manner and for the purpose substantially as set forth.
