BOTTLE-SUPPORT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Sept. 18, 1906.
1906. Serial No. 301,057-
Application filed February 14,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JEROME W. BARNARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Joseph, in the county of Wallowa and State of Oregon, have invented a new and useful Bottle-Support, of which the following is a specification. I
This invention relates to devices employed in stores for supporting bottles and similar receptacles, and has for its object to provide a simply-constructed device whereby the dispensing-bottles and other receptacles may be supported in convenient and secure position and dispensing with the cumbersome and expensive shelving.
With these and other objects in view, which will appear as the nature of the inven tion is better understood, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, and in which corresponding parts are denoted by like designating characters, is illustrated the preferred form of the embodiment of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of the improved device applied. Fig.
2 is a perspective view from beneath of the receptacle portion of the device. Fi 3 is a perspective view of the bracket portion of the device inverted. Fig. 4 1s a front view of the bracket portion of the device illustrating a modification in the construction.
The improved device comprises a bracket member having an expansive portion and a receptacle for the bottles or other vessels and bearing over the expansive portion and maintained in position thereon by the exansive force of the same.
The bracket part of the device consists of an annular portion 10, divided at 11, and with a vertical stud 12, and means, such as a screw 13 or ears 14, for attachment to a stationary support, such as the wall of a room, (represented at 15.)
The receptacle part 16 is formed with a socket 17 at the lower part for hearing over the annular portion 10 and with a recess 18 for receiving the stud 12 and with an annular recess 19, into which the divided annular portion extends. By this simple means when the receptacle is disposed in position upon l the bracket the coaction of the stud 12 and expanding portion 10 holds it with sufficient firmness to prevent accidental displacement.
The upper portion of the receptacle is arrapged to receive the bottles 20 or other vesse The receptacle may be of any fanciful design or size or of any suitable material and employed to hold any size or form of bottle or other vessel.
When used to hold the dispensing-bottles and the like in drug-stores, the bracket portions will be arranged in rows one above the other and as close as the sizes of the bottles will admit.
The supporting means for the bracket portions may be attached directly to the walls or to strips or bands upon'the walls, as may be preferred or as the condition of the walls may require.
, An additional holding-screw 21 may also be employed, if required.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is- 1. A bracket having an expansive annular portion and means for attachment to a stationary support, and a receptacle having a socket for receiving said annular portion, as and for the purpose set forth.
2. A bracket having an expansive annular portion, a projecting stud, and means for attachment to a'stationary support, and a re ceptacle having a socket for receiving said annular portion and a recess for receiving said stud.
3. A bracket having a resilient annular divided portion and means for attachment to a stationary support, and a receptacle having a socket provided with an annular recess for receiving said annular portion.
4. A bracket having a resilient annular divided portion, a projecting stud, and means for attachment to a stationary support, and a receptacle having a socket provided with an annular recess for receiving said annular por- ,tion and into which the same expands and a d stud.
recess for I'GGBlVlIlgSfil claim the foregoing as In testimony that I I my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
