Description

.-@tmtetl tant 1 @met i @fitte wie www- WILLIAM L. DENIO, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK, .AS-SIGNOR 'IO- I-IIMSELE AND IRWIN DAVIS, OF THE SAME PLACE. Letters Patent No. 82,927, dated October 13, i868.
IMPROVEMENT IN ATTACHING- ROSETTES TO HARNESS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making partei the same.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Beit known that I, WILLIAM L. DEMO, of Rochester, in the county of Monroe, and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Attaching Rosettes to Harnesses; and Ido hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference bein'ghadl to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specication.
Figure l is a section of a rosette, showing its attachment to the harness -by my improved means.
Figure 2, an inside viw of the same.
Ake letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both figures. I
` My improvement consists in constructing and arnging the rosette as hereafterdescribed, whereby the same is easily applied and removed.
In the accompanying drawings, A indicates the sette proper, and B a screw-loop, .the screw part a of which screws in a corresponding screw-socket or nut b of the rosette, the nut being secured in place by screws c c, or equivalent. The loop dis slipped on over looped end g of lthe ont piece of the head-V stall, and the twin straps h h of the side-piece k pass down through the end-loop of the front piece on opposite sides `of the loop d, as shown most clearly in fig. 2, thus securing the screw-loopB, and preventing it from slipping.
-Thus it Will be perceived that the .screw-loop B is secured to the headstall without the employment of any additional straps, and without changing the arrangement of the same, and it remains a fixture until removed purposely, which, however, is easily accomplished, when desired, by unshipping the straps. The rosette A, by being secured by s imply'screwing on, can be easily applied and removed, which' is a desirable object to be accomplished. In ordinary harnesses, the rosettes are sewed on, or otherwise attached so as not to be removable without cutting. The screw-loops B can be made at but triling expense, and can be easily applied to ordinary harnesses.
What -I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The rosette A, provided with lthe screw-socket or nut b,- in combination with the screw-loop B and attaching-straps g h, the whole arranged as described, andoperating in the manner and for'the purpose specied.
Inwitness whereof, I have hereunto signed my name I
