To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ANTHONY VANDER- VELD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Article-Supports for Wardrobes,- and I do hereby declare thefollowingto be a full, clear, and exact descriptionof the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention relates to improvements in article-supports for wardrobes, and more particularly to such supports adapted to be drawn wholly outside of the case and its object is to provide the same with various new and useful features, as hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

My invention consists, essentially, in combination and arrangement of stationary ways supported within the case, movable ways mounted therein and adapted to project par tially outside the case,-and-a support movably supported in the movable ways and adapted to be moved wholly outside the case, as will more fully appear by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 represents avertioal section of a case or receptacle having my device attached and with the support wholly extended; Fig. 2, a side elevation of the support as it appears when run back into the case; Fig. 3, a transverse section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2 Fig. 4, an enlarged side elevation of my device as it appears when extended; Fig. 5 the same fur ther enlarged and shown in plan view; Fi 6, a further enlarged detail showing the re lerbearings for the inner slide; Fig. 7, a detail showing the bearings for the movable ways for the same; Fig. 8, a transverse section on the line 8 8 of Fig. 7.

1 represents any convenient case within which n; 1y be movably supported upon my device any convenient articlessuch, for instance as ready made clothingthe dimensions and character of this'case being varied to suit the articles to he placed therein. Within the upper part of the case are stationand rod 5 may be drawn who ary ways consisting of one or more pairs of channel-bars 2, arranged parallel and spaced apart and also having their channeled sidestoward each other. These ways are supported by brackets 6, secured to the framework of the case. Between the channel-bars 2 are movable ways consisting of angle-bars 3, having inwardly-projecting flanges at their lower edges and spacedapart to receive the supporting-bar 4 and connected at the top by transverse members 10. These movable ways are supported upon rolls 9, j ournaled on studs 14, fixed in the bars 3 and traversing the channels of the channel-bars 2. The supporting-bar 4 is narrower than. the bars 3 and is longitudinally movable between the same. This bar 4 is supported upon rolls 8 freely movable between its under side and the flanges of the angle-bars 3. I

Depending from the respective ends of the bar 4 are hangers 7, to which are attached, I the respective ends of a rod 5, upon which at the rear end of the same and the other a' sufiicient distance therefrom to maintain the ways 3 in alinement with the ways 2 and topermit the movable ways to project outwardsomewhat more than one-half of their length when drawn out of the case. The rolls 8 are limited in their movements toward the front by stops 13. \Vhen .the Ways 3 are fully drawn out from the case, they project a suiticient distance, so that the su porting-bar 4 ily outside the case and remain properly supported by the ways 3. I am thus able to bring any article or articles supported upon the rod 5 wholly outside the case while supported by my de vice and also to carry the same backwholly within the case, as occasion may require.

Obviously as many of these devices may be used and arranged at intervals within a case as desired, whereby any portion of the contents of the case supported upon any one rod 5 may be moved out of the case and back again within the same at pleasure.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
