SLIDE-BRACELET.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 26, 1906.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD F. PRESBREY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the State of Rhode Island, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Slide-Bracelets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists in the improved construction of the locking means for the two parts of the bracelet, whereby a durable and efficient locking means is provided, as hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a side view of a slide-bracelet provided with my improvement, a portion of both members being broken away to show the improved locking'means. Fig. 2 represents the same when the parts of the bracelet are pulled apart preparatory for placing the bracelet upon the Wrist of the wearer. Fig. 3 represents an enlarged detail sectional view of the improved locking means when the parts of the bracelet are closed, as in Fig. 1. Fig. 4 represents an inner side view of the locking means, as shown in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 represents an outer side view of the same. Fig. 6 represents a detail sectional view of the locking means when the parts of the bracelet are separated, as in Fig. 2. Fig. 7 represents iia transverse section taken on the line 7 7 of In the drawings, A represents one hollow member, and B the other hollow member, of a slide-bracelet, the said members being connected to each other by means of the flexible German-silver slide-stripsCC, one of the ends of which is soldered Within the cavity D of the member A, the other end being provided with the indentation a, which is adapted to pass onto and engage with the corresponding elevation I), struck up in the projecting end 0 of the curved guide E, which serves to uide the opposite edges of the slide-strip as shown in Fi .6, the said slide-strip constituting the resi ient member. The guide E is provided with the slot d, and the slide-strip C is provided with the struck-up projection e, which enters the slot d and serves to limit the outward and inward movement of the said slide-strip. The curved guide E is also provided with the head f, having an elongated perforation g, through which the slide-strip C is made to loosely pass, and the said guide E may be secured within the cavity of the bracelet member B by suitable means.
I claim as my invention Ina slide-bracelet, the combination of the hollow members of the bracelet, With the flexible slide-strips, each secured at its outer end to the end of a bracelet member, and provided at its opposite inner end with the struck-up engaging depression, and with the struck-up elevation, With the curved guides, secured Within the cavity of the bracelet member, and each provided, with a struck-up elevation, adapted to enga e with the depression of the uided fleXibIe slide-strip, and also provide with the slot adapted to receive the sto elevation which serves to limit the outward and inward movement of the flexible slide-strip, substantially as described.
