My invention further consists in' certain novel features and combinations-of parts,
which will be hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.,,
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a sectional view, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view, of the head and wings of the safetyrazor, showing the wings folded.
The handle of the razor is composed, preferably, of three telescopic sections'l, 2, and 3, and the section 1 is provided withra screw threaded end 4, by which it is removably secured to the head 5. Wings 6 6 are hinged at 7 75m the side edges ofthe head, whereby they may be folded, as indicated in Fig. 2. These hinges are intended-to be stiff enough and rigid so that they will hold the wings in Whatever position they may be placed, and as the pressure is downward upon the razor the wings maintain the position as shown in Fig. 1 when the razor is in use Each wing is divided to receivea blade 8, andthe blades areremovably held therein by screws or bolts 9 9. The usual guard 10 isemployed to pre-- Vent .cutting the cuticle and to guide the' blade over thesurfaceto be shaven; It is Specification of Letters" Patent. Application filed August 18,1905. I A razor of this description is conveniently carried, easy to manufacture, and is most effective in the performanceof its functions.
- Slight changes might be resorted to in the form and arrangement of the several parts described without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, and hence I do not wish to limit myself to the exact con{ struction herein set forth; but, I Having fully described my invention," what I claim as new, and desire to seen-1e by Letters Patent, is
1. An article of manufacture, a razor comprising a head and blades, wings hinged to the head, the blades removably secured within the wings, a uardand means of securing I the guard and b ades to the wings, in combination witha handle, means of securing the handle to' the head, substantially as described and for the purposes set forth.
