The assemblage of the stem' and the guide is to be such that the former will be free to slide in the latter, so that when the bottle is inverted for the purpose of pouring out the contained liquid the closure will automatically unseat itself and assume. the position shown vin Fig; 1and upon the bottle being restored to its normal or vertical position the closure will automatically seat ltself and lreist upon the upper edge o f the collar, as shown in Fig. 2, thereby effectually sealing ingress to the interior of the receptacle with which the device is used.
