siding at Columbus, Ohio, have invented cer-.

tain new and useful Improvements in Hose- Supporters, of which the following is a specification.

My present invention relates to certain improvements in the details of construction and arrangement of parts in ladies hose-supporters, the same being devised with a view to securing increased simplicity, durability, and efficiency and preventing as far as possible any wear and tear of the undergarments.

' At the same time the supporter is designed to yield to accommodate itself to every movement of the body, thereby relieving the stockings of the strains arising from the motions in walking, stooping, and the like.

I have illustrated the invention in the accompanying drawings, in which I Figure 1 is a front view. Fig. 2 is a view of a modification. Figs. 3 and 4 are sectional detail views. Fig. 5 is a view of the guide-blank.

Referring by reference characters to the drawings, it will be seen that I provide a front or apron portion 5, which may be held in any desired manneras, for instance, by a belt around the waist or by safety-pins, as maybe preferred. To one of the lower corners of this portion 5 is connected a clip 6 in any suitable manner as, for instance, by a tape 7 passing through the loop of the clip. A cord 8 has one end connected to this clip 6, from whence it passes downward and through a supporting-guide 9, from which the supporting device for one of the stockings depends. From the guide 9the cord extends up to and through a similar but inverted guide 10, which has its loop secured to the apron portion 5 in any suitable manner, as by tape 7 .After passing through this second guide the cord passes downward and terminates in a clip 11, carrying the hose-suspending device for the other stocking.

I prefer to construct each of the guides in the following manner: A single piece of sheet metal of the shape shown in Fig. 5 is doubled upon itself to provide two parallel walls a.

These walls are connected by a hollow rivet 6, upon which'is journaled a roller d, around which the tape passes. The side portions are provided with extensions (1, which are bent to overlap each other and close in the edges of the guides. The doubled-over portion f of the guide embraces one of the bars of the metal loop, around which it is clamped, as shown.

In Fig. 2 I have shown my supporter as applied directly to the front of the corset. this form one of the metal loops may be made in the form of a safety-pin 12 and the free end of the cord formed into or provided with a loop 13, adapted to engage a button 14, sewed to the corset or to the tape projecting therefrom. This affords a ready means of disconnecting the tape when it is desired to remove the corset from the body.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is I In a stocking-supporter, the combination with a flexible cord and hose-attaching devices, of a slide for connectin the hose-attaching devices to the cord an comprising a metal 00p, and a single piece of sheet metal doubled upon itself and embracing one of the bars of the loop, said doubled sheet metal having inwardly-turned and overlapping ends and a rivet extending between the sides around which the cord passes.
