To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, J ODI'E VVALLIoK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Sumpter, in the county of Baker and State of Oregon, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Photo-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention consists of a simple form of holder or support designed particularly to receive photos or the like for display purposes, the invention embodying a suitable frame and supporting parts attached thereto in such away as to admit of" varied disposition of the photographs to enable the same to be conveniently arranged, not only to economize space, but also to subserve the ornate appearance of the device.

For a full description of the invention and the merits thereof and also to acquire a knowledge of the details of construction of the means for effecting the result reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in Which Figure 1 is a front elevation of a device embodying the invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view. Fig. 3 is a view of the invention, parts knocked down or taken apart.

Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the drawings by the same reference characters.

Specifically describing the invention, the numeral 1 designates the sides and the numeral 2 the'top and bottom of the support ing-frame included in the invention. This supporting-frame may be of any ornamental appearance in general configuration, but as illustrated. consists merely of a plurality of The side bars 1 are preferably formed at the upper and lower extremities thereof with heads 3, from which project the fixed. knobs 4, the heads 3 being formed with lateral openings therethrough, so that threaded endv portions 5 of the top and bottom of the frame may be passed through the heads 3. Removable knobs 6 are adapted to be secured upon the end portions of the top and bottom parts 2 of the frame, so as to secure the same to the sides 1. The knobs 4 and 6 of course are designed to increase the ornamental effect of the frame structure.

Arranged in the frame before described are a plurality of double supporting-strips or wires 7, the ends of which are looped about the top and bottom parts 2 of the frame, so

as to attach said strips or wires thereto. The strips or wires 7 are arranged longitudlnally of the frame, and the loop portions (desig- .nated 8) which receive the parts 2 of the 'frame admit of lateral adjustment of the wires, so as to bring the same closer together or arrange them farther apart, according as necessary or desirable to facilitate supporting of pictures or photos the sizes of which are varied of course. The double strips or wires 7 are connected at points between the ends thereof by means of slid able members or buttons 9, which are provided with suitable openings to receive said double strips or wires, a suitable number of these buttons being arranged upon the wires, according to the size of the supporting-fra1ne. The buttons 9 are adapted to bring the wire elements composed in the double wires 7 closer together, so that the same will positively hold a picture or photo somewhat in the manner illustrated in the drawings. To support the pictures or photos, it is necessary to utilize two sides of the double wires 7, the photo being received between the front and rear wire elements of each double wire, and the buttons 9 are so arranged as to'positively position the photo, the buttons being in contact with the lower edge portion, as well as the upper edge portion of the same, preferably.

In view of the fact that the various double wires 7, which are arranged upon the frame of the support, may be moved toward and from each other different sizes of photos may be received thercbetween, and, further, as the buttons 9 are adapted for longitudinal adjustment along the double wires receiving them said buttons will accommodate for the different sizes of photos also. It will of course be understood that the frame used in this description contemplates strips of any suitable form adapted for purposes of the invention, and the 1n embers 9 may be sleeves or loops or like members, the openings of which receive the double wires 7, as hereinbefore set forth.

When it is desired to pack the photo-holder away or to take the same apart for purposes of transportation or the like, it is only necessary to remove the knobs 6 at the ends of the top and bottom parts 2 of the frame, displace the parts 2 from the sides 1, and the several double wires 7 may of course be removed from the parts 2, so that all of the parts of the frame may be packed close together to economize space in an obvious manner.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is 1. In a holder for photos or the like, the combination of a frame composed of sides, a plurality of strips connecting said sides, and members arranged for movement longitudinally of said strips and cooperating to support photos thereon.

2. In a holder for photos or the like, the

combination of a frame, a plurality of strips connecting sides of the frame and adjustable toward and from each other, and members arranged for movement longitudinally of said strips and cooperating to support photos thereon.-

3. In a holder for photos or the like, the combination of a supporting-frame embodying a plurality of sides, double supportingstrips connecting sides of said frame and adjustable toward and from each other, said supporting-strips having end portions thereof looped about sides of the frame for connection therewith and admitting of adjustment of the double strips toward and from each other,

and buttons arranged for movement longitudinally of the double strips and cooperating therewith to support a photo thereon.

4. In a holder for photos orthe like, the combination of a frame comprising sides, a top and bottom, the sides having openings through which end portions of the top and bottom parts pass, knobs fastened to the top and bottom parts at the ends and securing the same to the sides, double photo-supporting Wires having loops at the ends thereof receiving the top and bottom parts of the frame for connection therewith, said loops permitting of adjustment of the double wires toward and from each other, and buttons slidable longitudinally of the double wires to cooperate therewith in holding photos thereon.
