Description

PATENTED JAN. 9, 1906.
G. D. DIAL. DISPLAY HANGER. APPLICATION FILED DBO. 11, 1904 Bttomegs s e s s e n UNITED STATES GRANT D. DIAL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DlSPLAY-HANGERL Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 9, 1906.
Application filed December 17, 1904. Serial No. 237,352.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GRANT D. DIAL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county' of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Display- Hanger, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to devices employed in show-windows and similar localities for displaying goods of various kinds in attractive position, and has for its object to provide a simply-constructed and easily-applied device whereby goods of various kinds may be suspended from the ceilings of show win dows, store-rooms, and similar localities in an attractive and easily-accessible position.
With these and other objects in view, which will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in certain novel features of construction, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, and in which corresponding parts are denoted by like designating characters, is illustrated the preferred form of the embodiment of the invention capable of carrying the same into practical operation.
In the drawing thus employed the figure rings 14, from the apertures 11 are flexible members 15, preferably in the form of chains, and to which the goodsto be displayedas,
for instance, shoes, as at 16are connected. The flexible members will also preferably be in the form of loops constructed by sections of the flexible material of different lengths connected by their ends to the rings 14 and hanging in loops of diflerent lengths therefrom. The goods to be displayed are then suspended from the looped flexible members, as represented.
It is obvious that a variety of goods may be displayed by means of the improved device and their arrangement modified to any desired extent. It will also be obvious that any individual article thus suspended is readily accessible without detaching any other article and may be displayed in a very attract ive and convenient manner.
Any desired fanciful form may be imparted to the members 10 15, and any desired material may be employed in their construction. The bar 10 and its flexible suspension members may be of any required size and employed for suspending any required uality or kind of goods which are capable 0 display thereon.
Having thus described the invention, wha is claimed is As a new article, a bar having means for suspension from a stationary structure and provided with a plurality of spaced apertures, and flexible suspension members of varying lengths and connected at their ends in said apertures and hanging therefrom in loops of graduated lengths.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
GRANT D. DIAL.
