PILLOW.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 26, 1905.
Application filed March 14:, 1905. Serial No. 249,990.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, Or'ro F. REIoH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Riverdale, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pillows, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is a device intended for use as a pillow or bolster, and is made of a light framework of metal supporting a top of woven wire or similar material and having the advantages, among others, that it is sanitary, cool, and light.
The device is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l is a perspective View thereof, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section.
Referring specifically to the drawings, A is a base consisting of a frame which rests on the bed-bottom or mattress.
B indicates aspring-frame made of bars of spring metal. The side pieces 6 of this frame are bowed down, as shown, and these side pieces are connected by cross-pieces I).
C indicates a woven-wire top stretched between the ends of the side pieces and connected at the head to screws 6 by means of which the top may be. stretched to take up slack in the woven wire or to vary the tension thereof.
The woven wire is preferably covered by a thin pad, as indicated at E in Fig. 2.
The frame B is secured to the frame A by means of clamps D, which allow the upper frame to be moved back and forth on the baseframe and also to be tilted to various angles, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 2. This angular adjustment is important and advantageous, providing either a low pillow or aand permitting adjustment to vary the inclination of the spring-frame.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
OTTO F. REICH. Witnesses:
