SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 791,512, dated June 6, 1905. Applicatidn filed November 14, 1903. Serial No. 181,152

To all whom it mwyconcern:

Be it known that I, FRANK S. THOMAS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Topeka, in the county of Shawnee and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Kitchen-Cabinets, of which the following is a specification.

The purpose of this invention is to'provide a kitchen-cabinet or like article of furniture with bins or receptacles, the construction and arrangement thereof being such that the front bins are adapted to be swung on hinges, one of the sides thereof having the appearance of a door, such bins being quadrantal shaped in horizontal cross-section, the compartment into which such bin is moved also containing a sliding bin or receptacle which may be drawn forward when the swinging bin is moved to the taken horizontally through one of the compartments and the bins thereof, such section being taken on the dotted line 3 3 of Fig. 2.

The base A of a kitchen-cabinet made in accord with my invention is provided with openended compartments B B, each compartment being similar in construction, the same having parallel guide-strips a ct, which are adjacent to the side walls 6. The guide-strips a a serve as supports for rectangular-shaped bins C, such bins having rollers for engagement with the guide-strips a, and the bottom 'of such bins between the guide-strips have trans verse stops 0, located to depend from the bottom of the bins somewhat to the rear of the transverse center thereof, and the rear walls have upwardly-projecting portions or stops 0 for engagement with the front cross-bar b of the cabinet when the bin is drawn forward to its fullest extent. By the construction shown the space rear of the front bin is utilized and the compartments are closed by the front bins.

Between the bins and above the same there may be drawers, and the top may be varied as to construction, though I prefer to provide the same with an upper cupboard and below. said cupboard with a central compartment and side drawers.

I do not wishto be limited to the particular arrangement of the drawers or top.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a kitchen-cabinet or similar article of furniture, a base constructed to provide a binreceiving compartment such compartment having therein a sliding bin, and a swinging bin attached to the base and adapted to be moved into the compartment and close the same when the sliding bin is positioned in the FRANK S.
