IMPROVBD Mosquito-BAR.
@its tlgemle nutten tu im time itttn @that :mi making am nf tige nime TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONGERNi Be it known that I, EDWAD STEINEL, of Amsterdam, in the county of Montgomery, and in the State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Mosquito-Bars; and I do hereby declare that the vfollowing is a full, clear, and exact description` thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference beingv had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, in which drawing v t u Figure '1 represents a longitudin-alvertical section of a bedstead, protected by my improved mosquito-bar.
Figure 2 is a plan or top view of the same.

This invention relates to a frame, which is hinged to the upper end of a bedstead, or to the wall near the upper end of a bedstead, and'over which a mosquito-net is stretched. From the cross-bar of this frame extend cords, through loops or staples, secured in a top bar, which is suspended from suitable hooks 'in the wall, over the head of the bedstead, in such a manner that .the person occupying the bed is enabled-to raise and lower the frame with ease and facility, and that when the frame'is down, the hedstead is completely covered by the mosquito-net, and the person or persons occupying the bed are protected against the mosquitoes.
A represents a bedstead, constructed in any desirable manner. To the upper end of this bedstead is hinged the frame B, which is made of thin wire, or any other suitable material, oflsuch a form that when vthe same is turned down, its cross-,ba-r, a, is situated outside the foot-end of the bedstead, and parallel with the same, as shown in g.-2 of the drawing.
Over the frame B, a mosquito-net is stretched, and from the cross-bar a extend cords, b, through loops or staplesz c, which are secured in the top bar, C. This, bar is suspended from suitable hooks secured in the wall,
over the head of the bedstead, and the mosquit l-net is secured to it.'
'lhe endsof the cords Z1 hang down, so tli it they can be conveniently reached by the person or persons occupying the bed. .By pulling the cords, the frame B swings up and the mosquito-net is raised, so that easy access can be had to the bed, and by .releasing the cords, the frame turns down, andthe mosquito-net envelopes the bed and forms a perfect protection against mosquitoes or flies.
Tliemosq'uito-net can thus be raised and lowered without sustaining the least injury, and its position can be'controlledhy the person or persons occupying the bed. By unhooking the top bar from the wall, and unfastening the side bars of the frame from the bcdstead, the mosquito-nettogether with 'the frame,'can be readily removed and put away in a small compass.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The hinged frame B,Kand top bar C, in combination with cords b, and with a mosquito-net, substantially as and for the purpose described.
EDWARD STEINEL.
