In the drawings, 1 and 2are jaws provided with inwardly-directed ears 3 and 1, respectively, which ears are radially corrugated and centrally apertured. The ears of one of said jaws are adapted to overlap the ears of the other of said jaws, so that the apertures in all of said ears register with each other.

Said jaw 1 is' a l so provided with a rearwardly-extendingtongue 12 to afford a compression-grip 11 rear of said bolt, by whichsaid jaws may be opened when said nut 9 has been sufiiciently loosened to release said cheeks and ears from frictional or other facial engagement with each other. Lugs 13 of any suitable construction are provided at the rear edges of each of said jaws and adapted when said clamp is in operation upon the scraper (shown in Figs. 2 and 7 and hereinafter described) to bear upon the upper and lower faces, respectively, of the'body portion or frame of said scraper, near the rearward edge thereof.

Teeth 1 f the upper face-of said scraper,while the points of said teeth project into recesses in said scraper to prevent longitudinal, vertical, or transverse movement of the same. When said clamp is in operation upon the modified scraper shown in Fig. 8, the points of saidteeth extend behind and against the rearward edge of said modified scraper and the shoulders of said teeth bear upon the top face of the same, whereby the scraper is prevented from tilting up at the rear edge and from receding in said clamp. When a mop, as shown in Fig. 5, is used in said clamp, said teeth 14:- engage the same forward of the binding and tend to prevent the accidental withdrawal of the same under excessive strain. A finger 1.5 is also provided upon. said clamp 2, adapted to engage a recess or an aperture in said modified scraper to prevent longitudinal movement of the same. In each of said jaws I also form a slot 16. The scraper adapted for use with said clamp and shown in Figs. 2 and 7 comprises a frame 17 and a rubber lip 17*. Said frame has formed therein the recesses 17, adapted to receive the points of the teeth 14.. The brush adapted for use in said clamp and shown in Figs, 4 and 6 is provided upon its back with a clamp-engaging fixture comprising a web portion 18, divergent flanges 18, which flanges are provided with oppositelyextending angular lips 18 adapted, respectively, to engage the slots 16 in said opposite jaws. Said fixture has also formed therein a recess or aperture 18, which is adapted to receive said finger 15. Lugs 18 are preferably formed upon said flanges 18, extending toward and bearing upon the back of said brush (and preferably stampedvfrom the body of said flanges) to form a broader and more stable base for said fixture than said web alone affords. Said fixture is preferably secured to the back of said brush by screws 18. The modified scraper shown in Fig. 8, comprising a strip of rubber 19 and a bindingstrip 19 of metal bent longitudinally, so as to impinge uponboth faces of said rubber and grip the same, is similar to the common metal and rubber window-scraper well-known to the art, except that the metallic portion of my said scraper is provided with an aperture 19, adapted to receive the finger 15 of said clamp. Said clamp may be held and operated by using said handle portion 5 as a handhold, or when desired said handle portion may be extended by securing thereto in any suitable manner a pole or stick 5, for which purpose I preferably make said portion 5 hollow and form an aperture through the wall or walls thereof to pass a split key 5 The end of said pole is provided with a transverse aperture adapted to receive said split key after. said end has been inserted in said portion 5.

It will be seen that saidclamp is adapted for variety of purposes and for use in works requiring the adjustment of the brush or other implement holder at various angles. The operation of said invention is obvious.

Having now described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a mop-head and implement-claim), the combination with a brush provided upon its back with a clamp-engaging fixture comprising a web portion and divergent flanges having oppositely-extending angular lips formed thereon, of a removable clamp comprising a handle portion, two jaws hinged together and adj ustably secured to said handle portion, and adapted to overlap and extend parallel with the outer faces of the flanges of said fixture and provided with apertures adapted to receive the said lips, substantially as described.

2. In a mop-head and implement-claim), the combination of a handle having a forked portion and corrugated centrally apertured cheeks formed upon the ends of the tines of said forked portion, two jaws provided at their rearward edges with corrugated apertured ears adapted to overlap said cheeks parallel thereto, a bolt extending through the apertures in said cheeks and ears and adapted to form a hinge for said jaws and handle, and a nut mounted on one of the outer ends of said bolt and adapted to draw said cheeks and cars into facial engagement with each other, substantially as described.

.3. In a mop-head and implement-clamp, the combination of a handle provided with a forked portion and with cheek-pieces formed upon the ends of the tines of said forked portion and having shoulders formed on the edges of said cheek-pieces, of jaws, hinged to said forked portion and a stop formed upon one of said jaws adapted to engage said shoulder, substantially as described.

I. In a mop-head and implement-clamp, the combination with a washing instrument provided upon its back with a clamp-engaging fixture, comprising a web and diverging flanges provided with angular lips, one of said flanges being apertured, of a clamp comprising a handle portion, two jaws hinged together and adjustably secured to said handle portion, locking means for securing said jaws in operative position and for securing said handle at a predetermined angle thereto, said jaws being adapted to overlap said flanges and being provided with apertures adapted to receive said lips, and one of said jaws being provided near its forward edge with a linger adapted to engage the aperture in said flange, substantially as described.
