SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 756,758, dated April 5, 1904.

To all whom/it may concern:
Be it known that I, WESLEY G. WINANS, residing at Spokane, in the county of Spokane, and State of Washington, have made a certain new and useful Improvement in Display- Stands, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in displaystands for use as a medium for exhibiting articles oflered for sale; and the invention consists in certain novel constructions and combinations of "parts, as will be hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claims.
Figure 1, is a perspective view showing a filled stand and an empty stand supported upon a counter. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the base of the stand inverted. Fig. 3 is a plan View of the revolving top part inverted. Fig. 4 is a vertical section of the entire stand.
Stands in common use for supporting and displaying goods upon store or shop counters are not adapted to revolve and not provided with means for attaching them to the counter.
The base portion A of my improved displaystand is constructed in skeleton form and provided with two spring-metal clasps B, which are curved in such manner as to adapt them to embrace and clamp the front edge of a storecounter, as shown in Fig. l. The part C is pivoted to and adapted to revolve upon the base A, it being provided with rollers D, which rest and travel upon the outer portion of the base, as shown. The pivot is ascrew bolt passing through the center of the parts A and C, so that the two are permanently and strongly connected, while the free rotation of the part C is permitted. Said part C is also provided with a .back E, which extends upward at aoslight angle and serves to support goods which may be placed upon the horizontal part C. Such back is supported by inclined braces, as shown, and it is arranged as near one side or edge of the part 0 as practicable.
It will be seen that while the clasps B serve to hold the entire stand or apparatus upon a counter at any point thereon at which it may be placed they allow it to be slid along the counter when required. Clasps also hold the stand, firmly upon the counter, so that the top portion C E may be revolved at will for the.
rollers and a back E projected upward therefrom, and a central pivot-bolt which permanently connects the base and revolving portion, substantially as described.
2. The combination of the base portion having U-shaped clasps adapted for embracing the edge of a store-counter and a revolving top portion which is pivoted upon said base, substantially as described.
3. The improved display-stand comprising I the revolving top portion having a back projected upward and located near one edge of the same, a base portion havingdevices for embracing the edge of the counter, and a central pivot by which the two portions are connected, substantially as described.
