PATENT OFFICE.
GARMENT-HANGER- SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 752,122, dated February 1 6, 1904. Application filed September 21, 1903. Serial No. 174,100. on model.)
1'0 a ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that LMQRRIS M. Sronn, acitizen of the United States, and resident of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment-Hangers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification.
My invention relates to a combined coat, vest, and trousers hanger, and has for its objeet to produce a practical article of this kind simple in construction and inexpensive in manufacture.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of my application, andin which like letters of reference denote like parts throughout, Fig
sire 1 is an end elevation of my'improved holder, and Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the same.
Referring to the drawings, the letter A indicates a curved bar, preferably of wood, which serves as a support for the coat or the coat and vest, if desired, and B indicates a strand of wire twisted upon itself. This wire is so twisted that eyes or openings 1) are formed therein at intervals, through which the bar A may be passed. C is a hook or ring at the upper end ofthe strand, and D a cross-piece at its lower terminus. From each end of the cross-piece D clasps E are suspended. These clasps in this form of the invention consist of spring members e, having a tendencyto press from each other, but being held together by a ring or similar device f. The bar-A may be placed through any of the eyes 12, thus determining the distance of the bar from the cross-piece D.
In employing my invention an entire suit of clothes may be neatly and compactly suspended from one hanger. placed over the bar A, the waistcoat either over the bar A or cross-piece D, and each of the The coat may he Q trousers bottoms may be inserted between the jaws of the clasps secured to the cross-piece. Having now described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A garment-hanger comprising the combination ofa curved bar, a second bar consisting of a strand of wire twisted upon itself and having eyes formed therein through which the curved bar may pass, a cross-piece sus pended from the lower part of said second'bar,
and a clasp depending from each, end of said cross piece, substantially as described.
'In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
