SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 745,147, dated November 24, 1903.
Application filed eptember 14, 1903. Serial No. 173.145- (No specimens.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES I. BROUGHTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Walkerville, in the county of Silverbow and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boiler Compounds; and I do declare the following to be a. full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention is an improved boiler compound for use in preventing scalingin steamboilers in which alkali-water is employed; and it consists in the compound of potatoes, linseed-meal, tallow, and black oil, as here inafter described.
My improved compound is a mixture of potatoes, (finely ground,) seventy-five pounds; linseed-meal,fourteen pounds; ta11ow,twelve I pounds; black oil, (crude petroleum), one
