hed from all others of a similar class, together with such parts as I claim btain an economical means for effecting the object, as well as one which ng adjusted expeditiously on the nail or screw. In the accompanying A represents an ornamental head for a nail or screw, head is composed of a socket, a, struck up out of a single piece of sheet metal, and having the ornamented part b, which may he of glass, porcelain, or other material, fitted in it, and bearing against wooden or other filling, e. A recess or groove upon the under side of the head is formed out of a separate piece of metal, the sides of the metal being turned over as shown at ff, and one end notched at each side and turned over to form the stop This piece of metal may be secured to the under side or bottom of the socket by solder or otherwise. It will be seen that after the nailB is driven into the wall or the head of the screw with the greatest facility.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent Attaohingornamental heads to nails and screws by means 0 nail or screw, composed of-a separate piece of metal attached to the under side of the ornamcntedhead, as herein shown and described. v
