Description
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FREDERICK BALDT, SRl, OF CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA.
FUSIBLE PATTERN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 724,243, dated March 31, 1903. Application filed January 23, 1902. Serial No. 90,866- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERICK BALDT, Sn, a citizen of the United States, residingin, the city of Chester, county of Delaware, State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Fusible Pattern for Use in Casting, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of an improvement in a fusible pattern for use in casting, and more especially to be employed in the making of molds for casting.
My fusible pattern is formed of a composition consisting of the following ingredients, namely: lead, bismuth, and zinc.
I employ equal parts of lead, bismuth, and zinc, and these ingredients are combined in a molten state to form an alloy, it being evident that the same is of such a character that it will melt at a comparatively low temperature, and yet can be handled when cool.
- metal can be poured into the space formerly occupied by the fusible pattern, and the object thus cast will be without fins or protuberances.
I claim- As an improved article of manufacture, a
fusible pattern composed of lead, bismuth 35 and zinc in substantially equal proportions.
FREDERICK BALDT, SR.
