To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM A. Mo-
, ADAMS, a citizen of the United States, and
alloy with the object in view of providing a stiff and strong casting alloy particularly Well suited for small castings.
With this end in view, my invention con sists of an aluminum alloy composed of aluminum, zinc and copper, in which the proportion by weight, of zinc exceeds the copper and the aluminum exceeds the zinc. The aforesaid elements are preferably combined in substantially the proportions by weight of one hundred eight partsaluminum, forty-six parts zinc and twenty parts copper.
In preparin the alloy, a. portion of the aluminum is rst melted and-raised to a heat sufliciently high to fuse the copper, the copper is then introduced and after the mass is somewhat cooled, the zinc is introduced. During the introduction of the elements, the mass should be kept thoroughly agitated. When all the elements have been introduced, the mass While still in a fluid state may be poured into ingots for shipment or for impresence of two witnesses, this 14th day of.
