Be it known that I, SAMUEL L. EASON, a

- citizen of the United States, residing at Scramton, in the county of Greene and State of Iowa,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fence- Posts, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in fence-posts; and the objectof my invention is the production of a fence-post which will be indestructible, attractive in appearance, thoroughly eflicient, and inexpensive of production, thus insuring a practical fence-post.

With this object in view my invention consists of a fence-post embodying novel, features of construction and combination of parts,substantially as disclosed herein;

Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my fence-post. Fig. 2 represents a vertical sectional view with the wires shown in the strip and post. Fig. 3 represents a horizontal sectional view, and Fig. 4 represents a vertical sectional view.

A designates a vertical rodwhich forms the core or center of my fence-post, said bar having threaded ends to receive nuts B, which serve to sustain the body 0 of the fence-post, said body being of cylindrical shape with the lower tapering end D to facilitate insertion or driving of the post into the ground. The body of the post is preferably made of cement and is formed with a series of grooves or depressions E, the purpose of which is to receive-wires for binding the horizontal linewires of the fence, and the body is formed on von'e'side with an angular vertical channel F,

which receives the strip G, which may be made of wood and to which the horizontal line-wires are secured by means of staples, as will be apparent, for. the'vertical strip may be 40 made of metal and formed with a series of kerfs or seats H, which receive and hold the line-wires in place.-

From the foregoing description and drawings it is evident that I provide a fence-post which is inexpensive of production and very durable and which is thoroughly efficient and practical. Y
