To ALL WHoM 1T MAY CONCERN;

Be t-known that I, WANNIBALD R. Bonnnnu, of Chicago, in the county oi' Cook, and State oi' Illinois, have invented. a new und useful Improvement in Wire Figures for displaying dry-goods for ladies wearing* apparel; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference beiughad to the `accompanying drawings and the letters and figures marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, and in whichl I Figure 1 represents a front elevation of my invention.

Figure 2, a'side elevation of the upper portion 'of said figure; and

Figure 3 is a top view of the lower portion of said figure.

' The nature of my invention consists in a novel construction-of a wire figure, in which the wires which form the skirt serve also as the stand or support of said figure, thus doing 'away with the ordinary central supporting-stand of such figures, and making a figure much less liable to be upset.

The upper part or waist of my wire figure is made in the ordinary way and form, excepting it is made of suilciently strong wire to support the goods without a central post or supportf There is a heavy and. strong metallic -hoop',".l?, to which the wire A is-fastened by means of the boltsvand nuts C. The wires Dief the waistA are fastened to the wire A, and rest upon the hoop B,- wlienjlie figure is put together. There is also a strong metallic hoop, E, whichfforms the bottom of the figure, said hoops B and E being connected together by the wires F, which formV the ordinary hoop-skirt of wire figures, and ut the same time are sufficiently strong to support the figure and the goods'displayed thereon. The whole figure is supported upon ordinary casters H.

By this construction the central supporting-post and stand are dispensed with, thus making the figurel simple and-cheap, and at the same .time the iigure stands upon so broad a base, supported upon casters, that it is not liable to be upset while being moved about to display the goods, which is a'very decided objection to all the ordinary wire figures. i I

Having thus fully described the construction and operation of my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. I claim a wire figure, composed of the removable waist and lower part without a central support or pedestal, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

2. I claim the removable waist D, provided with the wire A, in combination with the lower part F, provided with the strong metallic hoops B and E, as and for the purposes specified.
