This invention relates t'o an improvement in the manner of securing the chimney to the burner, and consiste, rst, in forming the chimney with an annular groove around its base, and second, in a fixed and rotating hook attached to the, burner, so that when the chimney is set in its place and the rotating hook turned partially around, so as to hook in the groove in the chimney, the chimney is securely held in the burner. l

Upon the said ring c is formed a hook or hooked flange, s, also'corresponding to the groove inthe chimney. The said hook aiA may be turned in its seat upon the hase of the cone, to any desired point around the base, and for convenience of such turning, I attach a knob, F, 'to the said hook.. I i

The operation of the two hooks to secure the chimney is as follows: Turn-the hook s to the position denoted in iig. 3; then insert the chimney as seen in g. 5,'in the usual manner for placing the chimney upon common burners, and when so set, turn the hook s to the position denoted in figs. 2 or 4,' and the chimney will he firmly attached to the burner, and so that it cannotvbe accidentally removed. To remove the chimney, return the hook s to the position denoted in iig. 3. u
