To all whom t may concern:V
Be it known that I, JOSEPH F. KOELMEL, a citizen ofthe United States,residingat Crookston, in the county of Polk and State of Min-VA screw, and a crown cork lifter or remover soy arranged with respect to each other that each element may be broughtzinto use for the purpose for which it is designed, and when all are arranged in closed position the tool may be conveniently carried in the pocket.
The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which shall be Vsimple and compact of construction, durable in use, and comparatively inexpensive of production.
With this and other objects in view the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, which will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a bottom plan view of my improved tool, showing the parts closed. Fig. 2 is a topplan View of the same. Fig. 3 is aiongitudinal sectional view of the parts closed. Fig. 4 is a similar view with the cork-extractor in the position it assumes in use. Fig. 5 is a detail perspective view of the tool. Fig.` 6 is a view illustrating the use of the crown-lifter, and

Referring to the drawings, ldenotes the"` 3 of which the opposite end 4 of the bow has a spring engagement, the extremity of this end being slightly divergent from the side 3 to facilitate the introduction of a key. The

5 denotes a screw pivoted between the sides 3 and 6 of the bail and held closed by two springs 7. In closing this screw its pointy is received and limited in its closing movement by a slotted lug 7', which may be of soft metal-such as lead, copper, or Babbitt metal-seas not to injure `thepoint of the screw. Piv'otedY also between the sides of the bail is a crown-lifter, a device designed to remove the crown-caps now generally employed for sealing bottles. This lifter is preferably in the form of a hook 8, the bill of which fits the bight of the bail and is inclosed. The rounded portion 9 of said hook is adapted to have a frictional engagement with the bight of the lbail and be held in place.

The uses of these tools being common and well known it is not thought necessary to enter into a description of the same.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with'the accompanying drawings, the construction, mo'de of operation, and advantages of the invention will be readily unterstood without requiring an extended eX- planation.
