PANEL-RAISER.

This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in panel-raisers, and.-

has for its object the provision of novel means whereby panels of various shapes may be easily cut or produced upon doors, partitions, shutters, and the like. f-

The present invention is an improvement upon a patent granted to me February 20, 1900; and it consists of a novel form of holder and removable cutters.

The invention also aims to construct a device of the above-described'class that will be extremely simple in its construction, strong, durable, and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture; furthermore, one that will be highly efficient in its operation.

. With the above and other objects in view the invention further consists in the novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more particularly described, and specifically pointed out in the claim.

In describing the invention in detail reference is had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this speciiicatiomand wherein like numerals of reference indicate like parts throughout the several views,in which- Figure l is a perspective view of my improved panel-raiser.` Figs. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are end views of different shapes and designs of panels.

In the drawings the reference-numeral l represents the holder, which is curvilinear in outline and is substantially S-shaped. This holder has formed therein a lcentral opening 2 for attaching the same vto a driving-shaft. (Not shown in the drawings.) Said holder also carries a central boss 3.

The reference-numerals 4 4 indicate removable cutters having cutting edges 5 and 6. These cutters have formed therein slots 7 to receive set-screws 8, serving as fastening adjacent to vthe central portion of the holder. f

.Various forms of cutters may be secured to the holder to produce styles ,of panels as illustrated in Figs. 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the draw- 1ngs. y

Another special advantage obtained by my improved panel-raiser resides not only in producing a clean cut, but in preventing the device from clogging, as the peculiar construe tion of the holder effectually carries off all the cuttings or shavings produced. Furthermore, the `construction of the holder will permit the cutters to be adjusted to regulate the cut.

The many other advantages obtained by the use of my improved panel-raiser will be readily apparent from the foregoing description and by referring to the accompanying drawings.

It will be particularly noted that various l cylindrical body portion having a bore, and l provided on its upper face with a central boss, curved arms formed integralwith the said body portion at diametrically opposite points, said arms being substantially circular in cross-section, and a cutter-blade adjustably y mounted on the inner edge of each arm and having their inner ends abutting against the said body portion, substantially as described.
