TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that we, SAMUEL BEAR and MARION BEAR, of Versailles, in the county of Darke, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Churns; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure I represents the churn, and
Figure II represents an inward view of the vessel.
Letter A, in Fig. II, represents slats or uprights that are placed in the vessel, to keep the cream from revolving. The slats or uprights that are represented by letter A are placed between the joints of the staves, and extend through to the hoops of the vessel. The letters 1), H, and 0 represent the dasher, of which letter D represents the dasher-shaft. Letter H represents the curved arms that extend through the dasher-sliaft D. The letter 0 represents square pieces that are set edgewise in the curved arms H, making a curved dasher which I, i in revolving draws the cream in between the pieces that are set edgewise to move through the cream, thereby giving it difl'erent motions. i
What we claim as our improvement, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- The slats or uprights, placed substantially in the churn as shown, in combination with the curved dasher, as set forth in the specification.
SAMUEL BEAR,
MARION BEAR. Witnesses Y A. O. BEAR, Joan Lone.
