AUGUST BISCHOFF, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
FASTENING FOR ARTIFICIAL TEETH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 689,158, dated. December 1'7, 1901. Application filed March 26, 1901. flerial No. 52,908. (No model.)
To (0% whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUGUST BISCHOFF, a citizen of theUnited States, residing in the city and county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsyl- Vania, have invented a new and useful Improvem ent in Fastenings for Artificial Teeth, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in 'fastenings for artificial teeth, which consists I fastener for artificial teeth, the same consisting of a plate B, having openings therein, through which are adapted to pass the pins 0,
having the heads D thereon, said pins securing said plate to the teeth E. Projecting from the plate 13 are the ears F, forming a channel therebetween, the edges of said ears being provided with shoulders G and having the notches or cut-away portions II, it being seen that by reason of the channel, the shoulders, and the notches the plate B and teeth can be securely fastened to vulcanite or rubber properly applied, it being seen that the material will enter the channel and the notches and engage the shoulders.
It will of course be evident that various changes may be made by those skilled in the art which will come within the scope of my invention, and I do not therefore desire to be limited in every instance to the exactconstruction herein shown and described.
Having thus described my invention, what Iclaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a fastener for teeth, a plate secured thereto, ears projecting at an angle therefrom, and shoulders projecting at an angle from said ears.
2. In a fastener for teeth, a plate secured thereto, ears projecting at an angle therefrom, and shoulders projecting at an angle from said ears, the latter being notched.
3. In a fastener for teeth, a plate having its sides bent in opposite directions with a channel therebetween, the said sides being provided with angularIy-disposed terminals and being notched.
AUGUST BISCHOFF.
