Beit known that I, JAMES GREENHALGH, Jr., of Glendale, in the county of Providence, and State ofRhode Island, have invented n new and useful improvement in Clothes-Horse; and I do hereby declare that the following is n. full, clear, und vexact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and us the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which the figure is a. vertical section of my improved clothes-borse, showing one of the drying-fmes extended.

My invention has for its object to furnish an improved clothes-horse, so constructed as to furnish a large drying-surface when extended, and which, when not in use, may be folded into o. smell compass, and which shall at the some time he simple, strong, and inexpensive in construction; and it consists in making the horizontal hars ofthe drying-frames in two parts, `hinged to each other at the centre, and the ends of which are hinged to the central post and vertical bar of said frames, as hereinafter more fully (lg-scribed.

By this construction,v the drying-frames when not in use may be folded up close to the central post A., so that the clothes-horse when thus folded will occupy but little space. When in use, one or any number of the -drying-frames may be extended, according tothe amount of clothes to be dried.

I claimV as new, and desire tosecure by Letters Patent- Making the horizontal bars B of the drying-frames i'n two pieces, hinged at `the centre, and hinged at their ends to the central post A und vertical bars C of the said frames, substantially as herein shown and described, and for the purpose set forth. l
