CASE FOR FISH HOOKS.
(Application filed July 24, 1901.)

UNITED STATES FATENT OFFICE.
ROBERT J. SULLIVAN, OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.
CASE FOR FISH-HOOKS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 685,952, dated November 5, 1901- Application filed July 24, 1901. Serial No. 69,491. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT J. SULLIVAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and usef ul Improvements in Cases for Fish-Hooks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a case for fishhooks.
The object of my invention is to provide a case in which fish-hooks may be efiectually carried formed of a single blank having folding flaps adapted to be folded one upon the other and securely locked in the folded posi' tion and at the same time affording ready and convenient means for the unfolding of the flaps for the insertion and removal of the fish-hooks.
The features of my invention will be more fully set forth in the description of the accompanying drawings, formin g a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of the blank of my improved case for fish-hooks, showing a few hooks in position. Fig. 2 is an illustrative View of one of the flaps closed. Fig. 3 is an illustrative view of the flaps in their folded position. Fig. 4 is a sectional view showing the side flaps in their folded position.
The case is formed from a single blank scored along the triangular lines a b 0 into the middle body-section d, side flaps e e, and top flap f. The case is practically triangularshaped when folded and may be made of any suitable flexible material, preferably lined leather, the shanks of the hooks being conrained in the tapered portion of the case and the hook-ends lying in the flared top.
9 represents a resilient head attached to the-outer face of one of the side flaps, say 6'.
it represents a socket attached to the inner face of the 'top flap in position to engage the head when the flaps are folded upon the bodysectiou, as shown in Fig. 3. 'i represents a ring on the other side flap 6, adapted to fold over the flap 6, so as to allow the head to project through said ring in position to be engaged and secured by the socket when the top flap is folded upon the two side flaps.
The case may be lined with absorbent ma terial to prevent the hook from rusting and which will also prevent them from moving about in the case.
The case as above described forms a very neat case in design, very efiectual in its purpose, simple, and cheap in construction.
Having described my invention, I claim- A fish-hook case formed of a blank of flexible material scored to provide folding flaps upon each side and at the top of an intermediate body-section, a resilient head attached to the outer face of one of the side flaps, a
ring secured in the opposite side flap adapted ROBERT J. SULLIVAN.
