Letters Patent No. 67,336, dated July 30. 1867.
IMPROVED KNIFE-CLEANER.
dil $rigrlmle refzmh this time Esters firms am: making gait m the same TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:-
Be it known that I, CURTIS O. MORGAN, of Auburn, in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Knife and Fork-Cleaners; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, in which-- Figure 1 is a. side elevation, and Figure 2 a plan view of my machine.
The object of this invention is to scour and clean knives and forks in an expeditious and efi'ective manner,
and its peculiarities consist in the employment and arrangement of the several devices hereinafter named.
A is the body of the machine, to which is secured box B. Each should be so cast as to fit in the manner represented in fig 1. C is an iron or rubber roller. If iron, I use a thick paste of emery on it, but if made of rubber I use simply brick-dust; d is a small cog-wheel, which is attached to the end of the shaft which passes through roller C. F represents the driving-wheel, provided with handle e. a is a projection cast at the angle of the body, which serves both as a support, and also as a scraper for the knives and forks. 9 represents a thumb-screw, by means of which the machine is secured to a table or bench.
The operation is simply to revolve the roller-.0, passing the article to be cleaned lightly over it.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The body A constructed as set forth, in combination with box B and roller 0, when all are arranged as described.
In testimony that I claim the above, I set my signature in presence of two-witnesses.
CURTIS O. MORGAN.
