AARON BRANDFON, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
SUS PEN DER-LOOP.
SPECIFICATION forming'part of Letters Patent No. 673,074, dated April 30, 1901.
Application filed February 4., 1901. Serial No. 45,951- (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that LAARON BRANDFoN,a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Suspender-Loops, of which the following is a specification. I
This invention relates to suspenders as used for overalls; and the object of my improvement is to provide a convenient device which will slidably connect the two bands of the suspenders at the back in such manner that each band may yield independently of the other, while both bands are held in the lateral posit-ions.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a View of a pair of suspenders having my slidable guide fitted thereupon. Fig. 2 is a sectionaldetail of such guide, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged detail view in elevation.
The letters A A indicate, respectively, the two crossed bands forming a pair of suspenders for use with overalls, and B indicates the slidable connecting guide-piece fitted thereon at their point of intersection. Said guide-piece B consists of a strip of textile material by stitching folded twice upon itself and secured at the side edges to form the separate superimposed loops b b. In practice the bands B B are passed loosely one through each of these loops, the location of the guidepiece B being adjusted at a position sufficiently high upon the back of the wearer. By this means the suspenders are sustained upon the shoulders of the wearer. The ability of each Suspender-band to yield separately through its loop with the difierent shoulder movements of the wearer affords comfort such as is not attainable with the ordinary fixed type of suspenders.
I claim- The combination with a pair of separate suspenders,of a double-l0op guide-piece fitted thereovenat their point of intersection, permitting independent slidable movement to each Suspender; the said guide-piece consisting of a strip of textile material folded twice upon itself, and secured at its side edges to form the separate, superimposed loops, b b.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
. AARON BRANDFON.
