PATENT HIRAM R. DAVIS, OF HERKIMER, NEW YORK.
TELESCOPIC SHOW-GAS E.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 670,404, dated March 19, 1901.
Application filed July is, 1900. semi No. 24,119. (No model.)
To ctZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HIRAM R. DAVis, acitizen of the United States, residing at Herkimer, in the county of Herkimer and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Telescopic Show-Case, of which the follow ing' is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in show-cases; and the object of the invention is to provide a show-case in which the placing and displaying of the goods in the case are facilitated. I attain this object in the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved show-case, showing one of the sections partly opened. Fig. 2is a longitudinal section of the case, showing both sections partly opened. Fig. 3 is a transverse section through line 3 3, Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the guide-clasps for the sections.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
A represents the foundation or platform of the show-case and which is provided with two longitudinal rails A, having inner and outer grooves A and A adapted to receive the guide-clasps on the slidable sections hereinafter mentioned.
B and 0 represent two slidable sections, each comprising two sides and a top and having open ends. These sections, which form the show-case proper, are slidably mounted on the rails A and adapted to slide one inside the other, the lower portions of thesecti'ons being provided with guide-clasps B O,adapted to engage the grooves A and A above referred to.
D and E represent two stationary ends, which are secured to the platform and against which the open ends of the slidable sections are adapted to be placed when the show-case is closed. The sections being made to telescope each other permits the contents of the case to be readily exposed and accessible.
Having thus described myinvention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A show-case comprising a platform, sections or casings adapted to slide one inside the other mounted on said platform, stationary ends for the casings secured to the platform, guide-clasps secured to the lower portions of the casings and engaging grooves formed in the platform, substantially as described.
2. A show-case comprising a platform, sections or casings adapted to slide one inside the other mounted on said platform, stationary ends for the casings secured to the platform substantially as described.
HIRAM R.- DAVIS.
