To all whom t may concern: p

Be it known that I, FREDERICK J. LANDER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Vaginal Syringes; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

The invention relates to an improvement in the vaginal syringe patented to me Septem-` ber l2, 1899, and numbered 632,723.

In the drawings, A represents the Wire cage; B, the central tube; C, the receivingcup into which is discharged the liquid carrying the impurities, and D the shield, which forms a tight joint with the outside of the vagina, and thus prevents any escape of the outflowing liquid.

E represents an injector with a neck e to t on the pipe c of the receiver C, or I may use the ordinary water-bag instead of the bulb-injector.

parts has the upper ends of the wires curved inwardly and secured in side holes of the head of the screw F, which hangs centrally among the wires. These wires being elastic thus hold the screw iirmly, are maintained in their true relative position, and yet allow the screw to be readily detached from them.

The tube B has an internal thread at the upper end to work on the screw F andnear the lower end a collar Z2, which makes a close joint at the hole g of the disk Gr, which forms the bottom ofthe receiver O. b' is the end knob of the tube B, over which tightly fits the neck e of the injector. b2 showsa series of rows of holes in the side and near the upper end ot' the spraying-tube B, which rows maybe four or more in number, so as to insure the contact of the liquid with the Whole interior surface of the vagina at the points desired.

The receiver C has inwardly-inclined ngers c', and between these pass the cage-wires, whilits bottom G rests centrally upon the collar b, the receiver being thus securely held Upon this receiver slides my shield D, which is cramped on the receiver sufficiently to stay in place wherever it is adjusted against the person, so as to form a tight joint therewith. d is an extensionplate.

What I claim as new, by Letters Patent, is-

A syringe having the cage-wires bent at their front ends toward each other, a screw and desire to protect with which said front ends engage, a receiver having a disk bottom centrally open and an outlet-pipe at its lower end, a spraying-tube connected to the said screw, and a shield adjustable on the receiver, all combined and arranged substantially as shown and described.
