DAVID L. .GARVER, O F HART, MICHIGAN.
PlLE-TRUSS.
SPECIFICATTON forming part of Letters Patent No. 655,618, dated August 7, 1900.
Application filed May 6, 1899- lo and is particularly efficient in function.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved truss, the several parts being shown adjusted relative to each other, as when in use. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the strap to which the anal bulb or cushion is attached. Fig. 3 is a perspective View of the loop for the anal pad. Fig. 4 is a side view of the anal pad or bulb with loop attached.
My invention is embodied in the construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The anal bulb or cushion A is attachedto the inner side of the strap 13, which in use passes between the legs of the wearer and is buttoned at each end to the body helt O in front and rear. The front end of said strap B is slitted lengthwise, and thus bifurcated, the two branches diverging from each other at a point opposite the perineum of'the wearer.
Serial No. 715,880%. (No model.)
The conical and slightly=oblong bulb or cushinto the desired shape and stuffing the cavity with some duly soft and elastic material. The bulb A is secured to strap 13 by sewing through its flared rim or base-flange.
A thumb-strap D is attached to the bulb or cushionA, as shown, by sewing through the ends of the former and flange of the latter. The strap 1) forms a loop, as shown, which is adapted for use in adjusting the bulb to its proper place while the truss is attached to the person.
The strap B and belt 0 are made of elastic material, and thus adapt themselves to the form and movement of the wearer, so that the truss is duly supported and may be worn with ease and comfort.
What I claim is'- v The improved truss formed of the body-belt O, the bifurcated strap B, the bulb or cushion attached to said strap, and the thumbstrap D, arranged substantially as shown and described.
