TC ALL WHOM I'l MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, A, C. BACON, of Cleveland, in the county ot' Cuyahoga, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Mop and Brush-Holders; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and complete description of the suine, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a top view of the brush and holder.
` Figure 2 is a side View of the same.
Like letters of reference refer to like parts in the different views. l
A represents the brush; B the mop-holder; C is an arm for a. purpose hereafter` shown. The mop-holder consists 'of a frame, B, ofthe form shown in fig. 2, attached to a handle in the ordinary way. The cloth which constitutes the mop is attached to the frame by passing the arm C through a slot, x, cut in the contre of the cloth. After it is passed over the arm it is turned aitright angles with it, as indicated by the line x; the neck a, which connects the arm to the head B', thus being enclosed by the slot and preventing the cloth from slipping olf the frame.
The manner in which the brush is attached to the holder is as follows: A finger, b, is connected to the frame, as shown in fig. 2, and an arm, D, to which is attached a thumb-screw, E, projects from the lower part of thehandle. The side of the brush lits closely against the finger b, and the thumb-screw turnedtightly against the other side holds it firmly, while the head of the frame fits closely on the top, thus holding it securely.
When desired to use the brush without the mop the cloth can be fastened to the hook c, leaving the brush free; or if' desired to use the mop without detaching the brush, the frame can he turned over, thus placing the brush nt the top of the frame and leaving the cloth free to be used.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isy l. The frame B, provided with the head B', fingers b, arms D C, and screw E, asiand for the purpose substantially as set forth. i
2. The herein-described holder, in combination with the brush or'mop, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
A. C. BACON.
