No. 652,17.v Patented June la, |900.
:5,1% 0,667@ jaL/e wat@ www UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE0 GEORGE IIAUSER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
HOLDER FOR THEATER AND TRANSPORTATION TICKETSB SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 652,107, dated June 19, 1900.
Application iled April 23, l 900.
To all whom, t may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE HAUsEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Holders for rlheater and Transportation Tickets; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invent-ion, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to holders for theater and transportation tickets; and 4it has for its object to provide a simple and comparatively -inexpensive ticket -holder combined with a diagram of the seats of the theater, a program of the entertainment, and advertise ments, or to combine with said ticket-holder a time-table of a public carrier, advertising` matter, and information relative the route of the public carrier; and it consists of the parts and combinations of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, Figure l is a diagrammatic view of the blank from which the holder is formed; Fig. 2, a similar view of the reverse side of the blank, showing the iap folded to form the pocket; and Fig. 3, a side elevation showing the holder completed.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout all the views.
Referring to the drawings, A represents a blank of the shape necessary to produce my improved holder, and o. the line on which the flap B of said blank is to be'folded in order to produce a pocket to receive a ticket or tickets, to accomplish which said flap is folded on the line a over onto and pasted along its margins b and c to the main or body portion of the blank, as shown by dotted lines in Fig. 2. The body of the blank is first folded along the line d onto itself and then folded along the line eto complete the holder, as shown in Fig. 3, and thus produce a rectangular folder of convenientsize and shape to be readilyin- Serial No. 13,932. (No model.)
serted in the pocket or in a pocketbook by the user.
On one of the spaces of the blank is printed a diagram of the seats of the orchestra and on another the balcony-seats of the theater or diagrams of such other parts of the house in which reserved seats are usually sold, said diagrams to have printed thereon the letters designating the rows of seats and the seat, numbers, so that the purchaser may readily find or locate the seats the tickets call for. Also on one or more of the spaces of the blank is printed the program of the performance or entertainment and on others advertising or other printed matter.
If the holder is used by railways or other transportation companies, a map of the route of said companies and time-tables or other matter of information or entertainment may be printed thereon.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. A ticket-holder consisting of a blank having a flap at one corner thereof adapted to be folded but once over onto and pasted along merely two of its marginal edges to said blank to form an open-ended pocket and said blank being folded on itself, so as to leave the pocket-opening uncovered, to a rectangular shape corresponding to the pocket.
2. A ticket-holder consisting of a blank having a iiap at one corner thereof adapted to be folded but once over onto said blank and pasted thereto along merely two of its marginal edges to form an open-ended pocket, and said blank containing spaces for theater diagrams, programs, and advertising matter, and foldable to a rectangular shape corresponding to the pocket.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE I-IAUSER.
