No. 645,858. Patented Mar. 20, I900. A. KUCK.
GAME DEVICE.
(Application flled Aug. 15, 1899.)
{No Model.)
WITNESSES A TTOPNEYJ THE Ncmms warms co, PHOTO-LIYNO. wuumccrou. n c,
ATENT 0FFICE AUGUST KUCK, on NEW YORK, N. Y.,
ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO WILLIAM FREDERICK SCHOLZE, OF SAME PLACE.
GAME DEVICE.
$PECIFIGATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 645,858, dated March 20, 1900.
Application filed August 15, 1899.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUGUST KUCK, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, (Brooklyn,) in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Devices, of which the following is a full and complete specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention'relates to game devices; and the object thereof is to provide an improved device of this class which is simple in construction and operation and which operates on the principle of a top and also in the manner of ordinary dice.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of my improved game device, and Fig. 2 a side view thereof.
In the practice of my invention I provide a game device of the class described which comprises a central pin 5, the lower side portions of which are provided with ribs 6 and the lower end thereof with a head 7, the lower side of which is pointed, this part of the device resembling the central pin of a top, and mounted on said pin is a block 8, which is preferably circular in form and which is free to slide on the pin 5, and the central bore of which is provided with side grooves 9,in which the ribs 6 of the central pin move.
The block 8 is provided with radial pins 10, three of which are preferably employed, and mounted on each of said pins is a dice-block 11. The dice-blocks 11 are free to turn on the pins 10, and each is provided with six faces, and on these faces are placed spots or figures, from one to six in number, and these faces correspond with the faces of ordinary diceblocks.
The separate faces of the dice-blocks 11 are preferably concave, as clearly shown in Fig. 2, and the operation will be readily understood from the foregoing description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the following statement thereof:
The device is spun in the manner of a top by means of the pin 5, and it will be observed that, as shown in the drawings, the point of Serial No. 727,332. (No model.)
the head '7 of said pin projects downwardly on a level with the bottom of the dice-blocks; but this is not absolutely essential, and said point may project lower, if desired; but I pre- 5 5 fer the construction shown in Fig. 2. As the device turns in the manner of a top the diceblocks also turn on the pins 10, and when the spinning of the device ceases it will be apparent that one face of each block will be directed upwardly, as shown in Fig. 2,'and the game is counted in the manner of counting ordinary dice.
The block 8 is free to slide on the pin 5 and is held on said pin at its lower end by the head 7 thereof, but may be slipped off of the other end of said pin whenever desired, and in the spinning of the device the said block will rise slightly on said pin.
This device is simple in construction and operation and is well adapted to amuse and entertain, and it will be apparent that changes in and modifications of the construction described may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.
Having fully described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A game device, comprising a central pin provided with a block mounted thereon, and provided at its lower end with a pointed head, said block being provided with radial pins on which are loosely mounted dice-blocks, each of which is provided with a plurality of faces, 8 5 substantially as shown and described.
2. A game device, comprising acentral pin,
a block loosely mounted and adapted to slide thereon, said pin being provided at its lower end with a pointed head, and said block with 0 a plurality of radial arms, each of which is provided with a dice-block which is loosely mounted thereon and provided with six faces, substantially as shown and described.
3. A game device comprising a central vertical pin, a block mounted thereon and adapted to slide thereon, said pin being provided at its lower end with a pointed head, and said block with a plurality of radial arms on which is revolubly mounted adice-block, said blocks being each provided with six faces, and said faces being provided with spots from one to six in number, substantially as shown and described.
4. A game device, comprisinga central pin, a block mounted thereon and provided with radial pins, and dice-blocks loosely mounted on said pins and provided with a plurality of faces having spots or characters thereon, substantially as shown and described.
5. A game device, comprising a central pin provided with radial arms or pins, and diceblocks loosely mounted upon said radial pins
