TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, BENONI F. PARTRIDGE, of the city of Syracuse, lin the county of Onondaga, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful improvement for an Adjustable Quilting-Frame; :LndIdo hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the some, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making :L part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view.
Like letters refer to like parte.4
Letter A represents the axis; letters B B the rollers; letter-s C C the extension-bars; letters D D the legs; letters a a a the set-screws; let-tersbbb the guides; letterscc the stay-rods; letters dd the slot in theextensionbars. The axis, the rollers, the extension-bars, and the legs are made of wood or any metallic substance. The rollers are round or can be made octagorial. The extension-bars are fastened to each end of the rollers by set-serews; and fastened to the extension-bars by guides are'the legs. In the lower ond of euch ex tensionbar is a slot, so as to permit the quilting-frame to be expanded or contracted in size ut the option of the oper-- ator. The exis is a. bar extending through the centre of the quilting-frame, :tud the ends of which are fastened to the legs by set-screws. The guides alre to'hold the extension-bars to their proper and desired place. The
stay-rods are to hold the frame in the desired position while fastening the quilt on to the frame, as then theA set`screws are all loosened; and when the quilt is fastened on the frame und extended to its full length, then the frame is fastened to its position by the set-screws. The quilt/is rolled up to suit'the operator by loosening the set-screws on the ends of the rollers and turning the rollers.
What I claim as my invention, and-desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination and arrangement of the a-Xis, the rollers, the extension-bars, the legs, the set-screws, the:
guides, the stay-rods, the slot in the extensiombztrs, all constructed and operating substantially zx-s und for the purpose shown and described.
