FRAME FOR MOSQUITO-BARS.
Specication of Letters Patent No. 6,390, dated April 24, 1849.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, L. AIMABLE PRosPER JACQUES, of Cincinnati, in the county o-f Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a view of t-he apparatus when extended. Fig. 2 a view of the same when folded. Fig. 3 represents another form of joint.
The co-ntrivance is more particularly applicable to low bedsteads (called trundle bedsteads) intended to be wheeled beneath a larger bedstead when not in use.

g are spiral springs extending from one arm to the other. The middle joint l is somewhat to one side in order that the spring may keep them either closed or eX- tended as the case may be.
The arms or rods 0 project at their eX- tremities e, 7L', in order to prevent their passing the vertical position when extended. The rods when the springs are adequately strong are maintained firmly in their erect position, but yield to a suiiicient pressure on the outer side of the joints cl and close up somewhat like the bow of a carriage.
The rods may be either wrought ironentire or of wood-with iron eyes.
I do not intend to confine myself to the precise form of joints, &c., here shown, for instance a form like that in Fig. 3 may be used.
What I claim herein as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The arrangement of rods and springs after the manner or principle substantially as herein represented, by which a testerframe or mosquito bar may be either erected or folded out of the way at pleasure.
