Beit known that I, Jenn JENK, et the city and countyot Washington, in the District e-f Columbia, have invented'ra new and useful linprovenientvin Buttons; and I do hereby declare thefollowing to be a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings,w`hicli are made apart ofv thisspeeitieation, andin which-*- v A Figure 1 is a central section of a button, as applied to the garment illustrating my invention.

In the button which forms the subject of this invention a shouldered shank has secured upon one of'its ends a dish or other *latwally-projecting fixture, and receives the head of the buttonafter being inserted through the garment at the desired 4point of attachment. The present improvement,consists in the means whereby the head of the button is retained upon the end of-the shank.
In order that others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains may be enabled to fully understand and use the same, I will proceed to describe-it in. detail. i
In the` drawings, a represents a rigid shank of metal or other suitable material, and Ii is a disk or bar fixed upon the end thereof, by riveting or otherwise. Figs. 3 and si are top views, the former representing a flat piece or bar, and the latter a disk as applied to the end of the shanka.
