Be it known that I, EDGAR M. STEVENS, of Chelsea, inv the State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Rubber Heel-Stiff'eningof which thefollowng, with the drawing, is a full description. In the drawing is represented a heel-stiener of rubber, made in the usual manner, and moulded in proper form. It dil'ers from all stifenings heretoforemiade, in having the upper circular. edge rounded over outward, and it is so moulded when made.- Heel-stil`eners as heretofore made of rubber had their upper edge rather slanting forward, and in wearing this slant would tend to wear the lining, and for that reason objections have been made to them. To obviate this I have made my invention and improvement. The shoe o1' boot will go on the foot more easily and the lining will not wear through.
This is an improvement on my former inventions in this direction.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A moulded heel-steuing of rubber, or similar elastic material, having its upper edge turned over outwardly, as and for the-purposes set-forth.
