ALBUM WITH DETACHABLE PICTORIAL POST-CARDS.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent N 0, 632,788, dated September 12, 1899.

To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J ACOB PHILIPP, director of the company Gesellschaft fiir Graphische Industrie, of No. 7 Barnabitengasse, Vienna, VI, Austria-Hungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Albums with Detachable Pictorial Post-Cards, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a construction of album containing detachable pictorial postcards with views of different localities and objects of interest that are located along a certain line of railway or line of steamers, so that on arriving at a certain station the owner of the album can readily detach a post-card with the corresponding view and after writing thereon post it. The album serves at the same time as a pictorial guide-book for the journey. The album contains in addition to the detachable post-cards non-detachable cards or pages also bearing pictorial representations of the said localities and serving as a souvenir.
This album is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in a perspective view.
The cover 1 contains a number of post-cards 2, with views of different localities and objects of a certain line of railway or line of steamers-for instance, New York to Chicago in regular series. Every post-card is separately detachable. According to the drawin g every card is perforated on the inner edge at 3, which allows every card to be separately detached and posted. This combination of the post-cards avoids the frequent buying of pictorial post-cards in the different stations of a certain line. At the same time the album serves as a guide for the difierent stations, &c.
As it may be desirous to bring home a sonvenir of the journey, the album contains nondetachable cards or pages 4, also bearing pictorial representations of the same localities, consisting of thinner paper and may be combined with advertisements.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is An album characterized by the combination of a series of separately-detachable post-cards with pictorial views of a certain line of railway or line of steamers and non-detachable cards or pages with the same representations to serve as a souvenir, which pages may be combined with advertisements, substantially as described.
